Little Bear Knits

DSC_0634This is Little Bear, the other furry beast that lives with me, not so happily modeling a premie cap I made a few year ago for Newborns in Need.  So I could have called the blog Little Bear Knits.  But she is only interested in chewing on my knitting needles and fighting with the yarn.  Sage has no interest in the yarn and likes it when I rub her head with a knitting needle.

But enough about the cats…and on to knitting.

My current WIPs  are a pair of socks, a baby blanket, a shawl, and a couple of scarves, a jacket for me, a sweater for RK (the one that continues to haunt me).  I LOVE to start projects.  Finishing is another story.  I usually get bored about halfway through the longer projects.  So then I start something else.  I need to get it under control.  I do think it is good to have 2 or 3 going at once so I can take a break from one when I hit that boring point.  So here are my priorities for my WIPs:  1. Baby blanket – the baby is due around Thanksgiving so it needs to get finished.  I am about 3/4 of the way through it.  2.  Jacket for me – because I need something for when it gets cool in the office.  3.  Socks – just because I have made one and I am about 1/3 of the way through the second and I would like to get them off the list.   4.  Shawl – I love the yarn.  A very simply pattern, I will get bored with this one.  5. The scarves – I need them finished before Christmas.   RK’s sweater – that poor thing may never get finished.  It is my albatross.  More about it in a later post.

And finally, a thank you to all my readers (all 2 of them) for nudging me along.  I have promised myself(and them) that I will aim for weekly postings.  We’ll see how that goes.

  1. I also have neglected finishing that sweater I bought with my gift certificate. As far as not getting bored with sweaters I usually do the front, a sleeve, the back, and the other sleeve. Sleeves are boring so I try to space them out. LB probably just thinks she’s helping with the yarn and the needles. She just misses the whole point entirely. No pun intended.

  2. Who are the socks for? I need socks. 🙂
