The Spinning workshop I signed up for back in July took place this last weekend.  It was even better than I hoped.  We had the best teacher ever!  Leslie was so kind and encouraging.  A great teacher.  She also didn’t stop with spinning wool.  We had alpaca, silk, flax, hemp. We learned to card wool.  We started out on a spindle the first morning and after lunch we learned to spin on wheels.

My first attempt was pretty rough:

This is Jasper, a Cotswold sheep.  He lives on a farm near Cartersville.  He was a dream to spin even though I am a total spazz at it.  Like riding a bike, it takes practice.  So practice I will and if I decide I am loving it and getting good enough at it, I hope to get a spinning wheel in the next year.
