It is Jan 2 and we are finally taking down the Christmas tree and decorations. The men in my house refuse to take it down until after New Year’s Day. I have suggested that this is the reason we have yet to win the lottery (it being bad luck to leave the tree up past NYD).
So I finished the neckwarmer for G at my office and I don’t like it. The yarn I used is really pretty and soft but the thickness of it makes it a little stiff so it doesn’t really lie around the neck right. I may be knitting even a third thing for G.
I don’t usually make resolutions but I do need to get more organized and with that in mind, my goal this year is to go through all the UFO’s (Un-Finished Objects, for you non-knitters) I have around the house and either finish them or rip them for another use. I am really good at starting projects but tend to lose interest about half way through and want to turn to something else. I would also like to follow my self-imposed rule of no more than 2 ongoing projects at a time.
This will all begin with my knitting bag:
This bag usually sits next to my easy chair in the living room where I do my knitting. It also holds my tools and notions but most of what is in there is UFOs. There are probably about half a dozen projects in there that I will start going through this week.
The other resolution that I have is to be better at documenting my finished pieces not only here on the blog but also in a notebook. If I am ever able to make something of a second career in the yarn business, I feel that this will be the right thing to do. Although I don’t know exactly why. Is this really something I will refer back to?
